Able Transport Solutions started with an underappreciated, 1950’s structure, with aspirations to relocate their trucking brokerage offices to Omaha. In response to the stressors of the COVID-19 experience on the transportation sector two goals were established: employee wellness and celebration of the trucking industry. Moments of truck, both big and small, are scattered throughout. At the reception a to-scale fabricated trailer in branded blue captures the attention of the space. Conference rooms are individually themed by truck brands: Peterbilt, Kenworth, and Mack. Modest references can also be found in ‘tire track’ carpet selections and shipping container offices. On the exterior, a nod to a truck grill was integrated in the building façade with a twenty foot metal mesh screen with metal studs framing the company logo. After a full day’s work of brokering loads who wouldn’t want to relax? The new facility provides a full fitness center for weights, cardio, boxing, and yoga. The wellness room provides a quiet space with massage chairs and an oxygen bar. A staff break space allows connection to a covered outdoor patio via a glass overhead door. Unique applications of industrial materials throughout speak to the company brand while creating an engaging workplace environment.
