The Capitol District is Omaha’s Destination Dining and Entertainment District surrounding a modern town square. It’s the urban spot where fun-seekers can live, eat and drink in one community—all within walking distance of Omaha’s best civic, cultural and entertainment venues.  TACKarchitects was responsible for the design of the two story retail building which anchors the entire north side of the development.  A balcony running along the entire south façade aides in the access of each bar/restaurant on that level, while providing shade a context for the stores below.  We also designed the amphitheatre and jumbotron screen that frames the western edge of the development.  TACKarchitects was also tasked with providing a code study for exiting egress out of the neighboring hotel, which led to the development of a monumental stair spilling out onto the plaza below.  TACK also assisted in the design of several of the bars/restaurants within the development.
